Black and White Themed Wedding at Orsett Hall, Essex
Joan & John
We planned Joan & John’s wedding in 3 months. Both were so lovely to work with and we enjoyed every bit of the planning process. They are such lovely easy-going couple and the planning process was filled with so much laughter. There was not a conversation or meeting that did not involve laughter.
The couple wanted the timeless black and white colour scheme wedding and it all came together nicely with the décor and stationery. It was clean, chic and elegant all at the same time. We went for alternating white floral arrangement on black stand and black candelabra centrepieces, clear glass charger plates, ice Chiavari chairs, white table linen, black napkin and black menu cards with white text. The table plan and order of service for the ceremony were also black with white text.
When it comes to choosing wedding colours, black and white schemed palette is not common colours that couples go for but we totally loved how simple and sophisticated it was for Joan & John’s wedding. So, if you are considering a black-and-white themed wedding, remember that you do not have to have colours for your wedding to be beautiful and your colour palette is only one of the many other elements that bring the theme together, so stay true to your taste and the overall vision of your magical day.
The couple also incorporated aspects from their culture into the wedding day. Joan is from Kenya and it was so beautiful to watch her family singing, cheering and laying down African fabrics for Joan to walk on as we walked to the chapel at the venue for the ceremony. Another beautiful tradition on the day was the gift giving during the reception where the bride was given gifts that she would use in her husband’s house. Africa is certainly rich in traditions and culture!
