A panoramic view of love is what comes to mind when you consider the fantastic backdrop to Olamide & Seun’s wedding at the iconic Gherkin.
If we told you that we had just a little over 2 months to plan this wedding, would you believe it? Yet it was not because our couple left their planning to the last two months before the wedding, to understand let’s go back to the beginning.
In January 2019, Olamide called to make enquiries about our services, it was a fun conversation, and I still remember what we discussed. I knew I would definitely want to work with her and her partner from that point. The wedding was initially scheduled for Malta in August 2020 with 150 guests. However, with the multiple travel restrictions of 2020, the destination moved to the UK after numerous postponements.
The couple finally said their “I do’s during an intimate outdoor civil ceremony with family and close friends, followed by the reception for 77 guests at the super stylish Gherkin; the view was just amazing.
The transition from Malta to the UK meant the wedding theme changed entirely from a garden-style in Malta to a romantic-style wedding in London. New mood boards had to be created amidst other needed changes with vendors in a little over two months.
The wedding colours - white, gold with a touch of greenery and blush were incorporated into the entire wedding design. One of the details we loved from the wedding was the branding; the stationery and favour bags were branded with the couple’s simple and chic monogram.
The three-tier with gold separator stunning cake created by
TY Couture Cakes was simple yet ever so elegant.
The bride’s bouquet was made with silk flowers because of her allergies, and
Tubes Floral did such an incredible job putting this together.
We have so many memories with Olamide & Seun as they are the couple we’ve worked with the longest since our inception. One memory that stands out is when we almost got stuck in Malta when we went out there for food tasting and meetings with the venue/vendors. We were literally on our way back to London when Malta announced lockdown (what a narrow escape, Lol!).
Olamide & Seun are wonderful and easy-going; it was a pleasure working with them. To finally see Olamide walk down the aisle and the couple joined in matrimony brings so much joy after so many uncertainties over the months.
Here’s wishing them a truckload of happiness, and may their love grow stronger each and every passing year.
