Toni & Hervé, The #NaijaLeseMerger Wedding at Sheraton Grand London Park Lane
We absolutely love multicultural weddings. It’s always beautiful to see two people from different cultures, backgrounds and traditions come together as one. Toni is Nigerian and Hervé is Congolese and their wedding was all shades of beautiful. We won’t write too much, the photos will tell the story!
Our bride, Toni reached out to us back in November 2019 about their wedding, planned for September 2020. One of the things I loved about her during our initial conversation was the fact that she knew what she wanted and she was sure that she wanted to book our services #NoDillyDallying Lol! However, her mum wanted to speak to us first before she could go ahead with the booking, so we arranged a call with mum and it was a yes from her too. Yay. it was meant to be! The joy I felt on the wedding day was priceless when Toni’s mum gave me a hug and said “Lovely event Tola, very well put together”. She was happy and that definitely made me happy. There is nothing like seeing all the hard work that goes into wedding planning pay off with a successful wedding day.
Toni & Hervé's wedding was one of the many affected by the pandemic. We had to postpone a couple of times before it finally happened in August 2021. There were 23 members of the bridal party including the junior bridesmaid and flower girl. Food and drink were in abundance, from canapés to the family style dinner service, to evening finger food, buffet for the party to the dessert station, cocktails and open bar. The guests were in for a treat. After the couple had to wait to have their big day, I think it’s only fair that they went all out like they did. The entertainment was superb also. For pre-reception drinks the saxophonist was a hit with the guests and for the party, the photobooth and selfie booth were very popular.
The flowers and décor we will have to describe as dainty and pretty. Toni likes all things pretty, butterflies, pink; she’s a ‘girly girl’ and so it was important that these features in the wedding design. If it was left to Toni alone, she would have had all things pink, lol! But we finally all came to an agreement with input from Hervé to mix the pink with other colours. The final colour palette for the wedding was ivory, soft pink and greenery. These were the colours we finally used to create the mood board for the venue stylist, who did such and incredible job with the décor (a list of suppliers/vendors can be found at the end).
Toni’s bouquet was white, lilac and raspberry pink, hand-tied with hints of blush and the flowers were roses and hydrangea. The bridesmaids’ bouquets were handtied baby’s breath (gypsophila).
We absolutely loved the branding at the wedding, from the DJ’s booth to dancefloor to wedding favours to the stationery (including the invites, order of service, menu cards and place cards) and even the cocktail napkins, they were all branded with the couple’s monogram/logo.
The couple’s portraits, scheduled to happen at Green Park had to be moved to the venue due to rain (this was a summer month but we all know what the British weather can be like so we had to have back up plan).
The venue, was the glamorous Sheraton Grand London Park Lane. It is a true expression of Mayfair’s grandeur, a timeless elegance and class. The décor and choice of lighting we went for complemented the colours of the ballroom and the gold light fixtures on the wall.
It was a pleasure working with Toni & Hervé and we wish them a lifetime of happiness and blessings.
We hope you love the photos as much as we do!
